Good evening HOST Families,

As we near the last couple of weeks of practice and the championship meet, I would like to provide you all with some information regarding what to expect for your swimmers. ALL swimmers are encouraged to continue attending practices for the rest of the season regardless of Finals availability/eligibility. From July 18th-22nd and 25th-28th we will be running a normal practice schedule as follows (July 29th will be our last fun practice and last day of practice):

7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. – 13 + year olds

8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – 9-12 year olds

9:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m – Stroke clinic (9 and up)

9:15 a.m. – 10:00- a.m. – 8 and Under

10:00 a.m. –10:15 a.m. – Stroke clinic (8 and under)

Championship Meet aka “Finals”

On Saturday, July 30th there will be a championship meet to conclude the 2022 summer swim season. It will take place at the Curtis Park Pool (here are directions) with all five swim teams in our division, however the timeline has yet to be finalized. Due to entry rules set by the Rappahannock Swim League, we cannot guarantee that every swimmer will swim at finals, however, we will do our very best to include as many swimmers as possible within the confines of entry limits and allowing for maximum scoring possibilities. Parents, I ask that you please take a minute and head to the declaration tab for Finals to mark whether your swimmer is attending or not. This makes it a lot easier to seed! Meet entries will close tomorrow, July 18th at 7 p.m. and cannot be changed. If you have not RSVP'd yes by then, it is assumed that your swimmer is NOT available and they will NOT be seeded in the Championship Meet.

Please remember, declaring for the meet is NOT a guarantee your child will swim, only that they are available to participate.

We CANNOT change the final entries once they are posted so if your swimmer is seeded in the meet it is EXPECTED that they will swim. If they do not show up, they have taken a spot from another swimmer, and possibly disqualified their relay team.

Lastly, entries will not be completed on my end until the end of the week, so I cannot tell swimmers what events they will be participating in.
